Athenea O'Bryan is an agricultural lawyer in Alberta

An associate of Counsel West Law, Athenea designs and implements tax, estate, and business succession plans for family farm businesses and agricultural land owners. She also has experience with agricultural real estate transactions.

Athenea believes good estate planning is a gift clients can give their families and advises clients on the drafting of Wills, Enduring Powers of Attorney and Personal Directives. She also advises executors and beneficiaries through the estate administration process.

Athenea attended the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law earning a Bachelor of Laws then attended Michigan State University College of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor degree. Athenea articled with Tax Court of Canada in their esteemed clerkship program. Athenea is member of the Michigan State Bar, the Law Society of the Upper Canada, and the Law Society of Alberta.

Prior to joining Counsel West Law Athenea was an Associate at a boutique tax firm and later worked as legal counsel for an estate planning company.

Athenea enjoys volunteering in the community. She is a long time volunteer of Calgary Legal Guidance that provides legal services to low income Calgarians and sits on the Board of Directors for Calgary Seniors Resource Society, an organization that supports vulnerable seniors in Calgary. Athenea has also given a number of presentations on Wills and Estates to members of the public and professional groups.
